DLSA Samba hosts awareness camp on POCSO Act

SAMBA, NOVEBER 19: Under the aegis of NALSA and the able guidance and supervision of Sonia Gupta, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Samba and to promote the concept of ‘Access to Justice to All’ which is deeply embedded in the Constitutional Vision, District Legal Services Authority Samba today organized an awareness program on “The Protection of Children From Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO Act) at Government High School, Meen Sarkar, Tehsil Bari Brahamna District Samba.
Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary DLSA Samba spoke on the role of the District Legal Services Authority Samba and also the scope of the POCSO Act, while Namisha Rajput, Member, JJB Samba discussed briefly about the provisions of ‘’The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012’’ including the concept of ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’ in a simple and dignified manner to the participants. The Child Helpline No: 1098 was also shared with the participants in the program.
Later, an interactive session was also conducted by Secretary DLSA Samba with the students wherein they were asked to spread the awareness about the POCSO ACT as maximum as possible in their neighbourhoods.
Earlier, a the start of the program, a documentary film on basic aspects of POCSO Act, 2012 was also shown to the students/participants on projector so as to sensitise them about the concept of Sexual Assault.
Panel Advocate, Sandeep conducted the proceedings of the program and  Bharat Sharma, Principal Government High School, Meen Sarkar Sarore, Bari Brahmana Samba presented vote of thanks.
Besides this, DLSA Samba organised another awareness program on ‘NALSA Schemes for Legal Services to Disaster Victims, 2015’ at Panchayat Ghar, Supwal, Samba. Panel Advocate Vishal Sharma was the resource person. The objective of organising this program was to inform the general public about the legal services scheme for victims of disaster like flood, drought, earthquake or industrial disasters.
The program was attended by Panchs, Sarpanchs, locals and Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Samba.
