Listens to people’s issues; Distributes land passbooks, Animal Husbandry Logistics among locals
KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 13: To listen to the grievances/demands of people and to redress the same at their doorsteps, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav conducted two day extensive tour of the far flung blocks of Warwan and Marwah of Sub-Division Marwah.
Besides, he took stock of iconic projects and developmental activities there. He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Varunjeet Singh Charak; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Zakir Hussain Wani; Assistant Commissioner Development, Atul Dutt Sharma; SDM Marwah, Dr Mohsin Raza; ExEn, PMGSY, Mohd Aslam Lone besides other concerned officers.
At both the blocks, Deputy Commissioner presided over the Block Diwas programme and Public Grievance Redressal Camps, wherein he listened to the grievances and demands of people and local PRIs.
Besides, DDC member Warwan Abdul Razak; DDC member Marwah, Sheik Zaffarullah, PRIs and concerned officers and field functionaries were also present in the camps.
The major demands and grievances highlighted by the PRIs and the people on the occasion were construction of bridge over the river in Afti village, telecom services in the area, meeting shortage of staff in Government Higher Secondary School Afti, Chopper services to Marwah Sub-Division for medical emergency during winter season, Adequate medical and para medical staff for the PHC Afti, provision of Firewood for winter season, PMAY houses for the deserving BPL families, Link road and motorable bridge for Margi panchyat, Sports stadium at Marwah, all weather road to Marwah, Staff at GDC Marwah, besides sanctioning of Mini- hydroelectric power project at Marwah among others.
The DC Kishtwar listened to their demands and assured them that he will take up their demands with concerned higher ups for prompt redressal.
Besides, majority of public grievances were resolved on spot by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar by passing necessary directions to concerned officers for immediate intervention and resolution thereof.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that Warwan and Marwah, being remotest part of Jammu and Kashmir UT, need the development and upgradation of the basic infrastructure and facilities including the Healthcare, road and telecom connectivity on priority basis.
He said that road and mobile connectivity were a lifeline for development and hence administration was leaving no stone unturned to ensure the availability of these services in the shortest possible time.
To promote the tourism sector in the area and to ensure the livelihood opportunities for the locals in convergence with Mission Youth Scheme rolled out UT Govt, the Deputy Commissioner said that “Warwan Festival” initiative will be made yearly event besides the tourist circuit will be strengthened in the area by incorporating many unexplored tourist destination of the Sub- Division including the Tatta-Pani (Hot-spring) of Marwah area on priority.
During the Block Diwas and public grievance redressal camps, the DC Kishtwar also distributed Animal Husbandry items/Logistics among the beneficiaries under Aspirational Blocks Scheme at both places. Besides, Digital Land passbooks were also distributed among the land owners by DC Kishtwar under the aegis of Digitization of Land record of JK, UT.
During the redressal Camps, ERO Inderwal/SDM Marwah Dr Mohsin Raza also conducted a voter registration drive under Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls-2022 and enrolled newly eligible and un-registered persons .
Meanwhile, the DC Kishtwar, along with other concerned officers, conducted the inspection of Roads under execution from Margi to Suknai and other important stretches of the Sub Division Marwah.
Earlier, the DC chaired an interactive meeting with the officers of different departments. The DC discussed and finalised the winter preparedness plan for the Sub-Division in consultation with DDC, SDM, PRIs and the general public.
During the meeting special thrust was laid on the road connectivity to the area and ensuring the availability of basic amenities, essential services and healthcare facilities during harsh winters.
He stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure the availability of snow cutters, maintenance of telecoms & Fibre connectivity, besides availability of food and medicine stock.
